A big week for our little girl - Sofia turned four! We haven't done a birthday post, so I will squeeze one in here. There was a birthday lamington, lots of thoughtful presents (thankyou everyone :) ) and this year we had a little backyard morning tea party.

There was a big carrot cake...

... pass-the-parcel and lots of hammock fun.

I did manage a month-by-month photo collage for the email invite (click on the image below to see a slightly bigger version). No trendy rounded corners like the one I did for Otto's first birthday, but sieve-head here can never remember from one birthday collage to the next which software I used. Note to 'Future Miranda', this one was made with CollageIt.

Sofia: she wanted ballerina. I was keen on a circus theme. We settled on "circus ballerina" :)
Otto: lickety lick!

We enjoyed Tommy's dress up birthday party this week, although there was some negotiation over Sofia's costume. The lure of the frilly pink is strong.

Sofia: holiday breakfast al fresco - a bit chilly!
Otto: likes to snuggle into Daddy's back when in the carrier.

We headed to Coles Bay last week for a bit of bushwalking, beach action and fun in the sun. Unfortunately the weather didn't come to the party and it was cold, windy and rained most of the days we were there. Where did summer go?

Sofia: has been creeping into our bed during the night a lot lately
Otto: "big boat!"

We have a good view of the Derwent River from our sun-room and there is a fair amount of water traffic, particularly during summer. Often the cry will go out - "big boat!" and the kids will rush to the window to get a better view of the icebreaker, cruise or cargo ships that sail by as they make their way to or from Hobart Port.

I already feel like I am chasing my tail with the 52 project, not so good for week 2! Sofia has been sick all week with a virus and we are all a bit tired. This morning we had pancakes for breakfast and it was good to see her smiling again.

Otto has taken to pulling faces when I point the camera in his direction - mostly scrunched-up-face rather pained looking smiles. The photo of him above was snapped between cheesie camera faces.

Hopefully next week will see me picking up the camera before Sunday morning!

...and we're back!

After a year off the 52 project (and most of the year off posting on the blog) I have decided that it might be worthwhile documenting the year in weekly portraits again. A bit of a last minute decision so these shots were taken today. We'll see how we go...
